Refective Statement
During my three semesters in Rowan's Writing Arts program, I have learned so many new things about writing. When I applied at Rowan after getting my Associate's degree, I opted to be a dual major (Writing Arts/Education). I have always enjoyed writing but never did it on a daily basis. I was initially intimidated by some of my classmates because they were avid, frequent writers who always seemed to be working on a piece of writing. I was lucky if I could remember to write down a phone number. As I dug my claws in, I began learning a multitude of ideas, strategies, and many other things. These ideas sparked my interest and prompted me to not only do the necessary writing for my courses, but to write at other times on a more personal level.
This class has taught me how to make myself "employable". I have learned how to market my skills in a way that will almost guarantee me a job in the writing field.
